About this Presentation
A vicious cycle or circle is defined as A situation in which the solution of one problem give s rise to another, but the solution of this, or other problems arising from it, brings back the first, often with a greater degree. Does this happen in our projects that we have been executing for ages? The answer is YES! There is a vicious cycle that most projects organizations go through. Dr. Goldratt identified this vicious cycle and also came up with a way to reverse it and get into a virtuous cycle. It would be interesting to understand it.
What Will You Learn
To help you get the most value from this session, we’ve highlighted a few key points. These takeaways capture the main ideas and practical insights from the presentation, making it easier for you to review, reflect, and apply what you’ve learned.
Vicious cycles in projects often occur due to stress, multitasking, and poor planning. These cycles can be broken by implementing strategies such as treating estimates as estimates and not as commitments, limiting the number of tasks in a project plan, and managing safety differently.
The implementation of CCPM can help reverse vicious cycles and create virtuous cycles, improving project management success, reducing time to market, simplifying project management, and fostering an environment for high productivity.
Creating a virtuous cycle involves stopping certain actions, starting new ones, and continuing with others. This approach helps to reverse the vicious cycle and start a virtuous cycle, leading to more projects being completed on time, within budget, and with full scope.
